POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Director is responsible for the daily implementation, monitoring and managing of the operational, managerial, budgeting and administrative duties relating to the program and is the first point of contact in case of emergency situation. The Program Director is a dynamic leader that oversees program norms and safety within the program, and serves as the main liaison with outside agencies, funders and stakeholders. The Program Director carries out policies and procedures and administrative supervision, to ensure that services are provided in a trauma informed and outcome-oriented environment. This position requires the ability to build effective teams and moderate conflict to create a positive and safe environment for innovation, problem-solving and collaboration. The assistant program director is responsible for maximizing program staff performance through ongoing supervision and training. The Program Director must maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working hours other than regular work schedule and evenings, weekends and holidays and be on-call.


Essential Functions

  • Collect, maintain and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the appropriate personnel at VisionQuest and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and other local, state and federal agencies as needed.
  • Responsible for the overall supervision and management of program personnel including recruitment, hiring, training, and terminating. Facilitate the established training guidelines and curriculum for employee training.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services, including evenings and weekends as the position requires on call rotation.
  • Review monthly financials when needed to ensure compliance with operations/contract requirements. Adhere to negotiated annual budget and spending requirements.
  • Monitor the program facility and vehicle maintenance, inventory control and bulk purchases.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and hazard-free environment.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with organization, licensing, and funding sources for all program departments. Be familiar with local, state and federal policy and procedures
  • Attend all organizational required training. Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to.
  • Create and maintain a safe, healing, trauma informed environment based on the Sanctuary Model.
  • Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences.
  • Travel as needed for training, conferences or to transport youth to destinations located within the U.S.
  • Develop and maintain productive relations with local, state and federal stakeholders.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree or bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience in child welfare administration, child protective services; and, 2 years of experience in program management or as director of a licensed child care program.
  • Flexible schedule (evening, weekends, Holidays) to facilitate program services.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Obtain and maintain First Aid Certification (CPR) and fingerprint clearance.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement.
  • Must be 21 year of age or older.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds infrequently.
  • Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day.
  • May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary.
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid Certification (CPR) and fingerprint clearance
