Job Summary

We are looking for one or two team members who can commit to working full-time hour or part-time hours M-F (7:00-6:00) with rotating weekends. This is a position in which you can gain experience working in a veterinary hospital. This position is a critical support role in assisting caring for our patients and supporting our doctors and technicians in performing the daily tasks that occur in a veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Primarily caring for all boarded or hospitalized patients including: Feeding, watering, assisting administering medication, walking, & cleaning
• Restocking supplies and daily cleaning of the hospital
• Assisting our grooming staff in bathing, as needed, and cleaning and care of the grooming and bathing areas
• Assisting our veterinarians and technicians with appointments and emergencies, as needed
• Assisting in our reception area by answering phones, scheduling appointments, & taking payments, as needed

Qualifications and Skills

Preference will be given to applicants with previous animal, veterinary, or medical experience. Applicants with a degree, currently enrolled in, or interested in a veterinary technician, veterinary medicine, or animal science degree program are highly encouraged to apply.

Basic skills required to complete the job are:

• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Standing for multiple hours

Hours

Part-Time or Full-Time Position – available primarily for mornings and some afternoons during the week as needed, Business Hours: Mon-Fri 7am - 6pm, Saturday from 8am – 1pm and Saturday evening to care for boarders, and Sundays 3 times daily to care for boarders. Possibility for additional hours/days as your schedule allows.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $10.00 to $13.00 /hour
