Job Summary:

The Benefits & Compensation Specialist will oversee Shannon & Wilson’s Total Rewards Program and provide benefits expertise related to various benefits and compensation program administration. Must be strategic while executing on the tactical basics.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide benefits information to employees through multiple communication platforms and assist employees through their different life events and transitions that impact their benefits.
  • Administer all employee benefit programs, including: medical, dental, disability, life insurance, workers’ compensation, retirement, leave of absences (LOA/FMLA/ADA), and other plans.
  • Lead internal benefit audits monthly, quarterly, and annually post open enrollment to ensure data accuracy in HRIS as well as data accuracy with vendor systems which includes enrollment audits, missing beneficiary forms and dependent social security numbers.
  • Partner with management, HR Stakeholders, and others to develop and communicate compensation program.
  • Support the annual performance review process.
  • Research and resolve specific individual total rewards issues for employees.
  • Maintain a wide variety of data in the HRIS system by reviewing and verifying requested changes and entering data as required to ensure employees’ pay and benefits are correctly processed.
  • Comply with Affordable Care Act and communicating ACA coverage.
  • Commit to apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 6 years benefits experience or equivalent years of experience.
  • Have a general understanding of Human Resources, the functions within HR and HRIS systems, how they relate to Total Rewards work and are familiar with benefits laws, regulations and methodologies.
  • HRIS experience, preferably using Paycom.
  • Advanced Analytical, HR system administration, reporting and excel skills required.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills required to research, analyze and troubleshoot data, process and workflow issues and the initiative to take action and bring issues to the forefront.
  • Verbal and written communication skills (proofreading/editing plan communications/materials) with ability to communicate with senior leadership
  • Team player who also has the ability to be an individual contributor
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Action oriented with excellent attention to detail
  • HRIS platform experience, Paycom preferred.

The Benefits & Compensation Specialist will be hired in as an Office Services Mid-Level IV or V and the salary range is $74,000-$114,000. The starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including an individual’s knowledge, skills, education and experience. In addition to base pay, all employees are also eligible for an annual year-end discretionary bonus. If an employee is exempt, they are eligible to accrue comp time in hours excess of 40 each week.
