The SC Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA) is the administrator and co-trustee of retirement and insurance programs for over half a million active and retired public employees of the State of South Carolina and their dependents.

As a member of the Employer Services team this position provides support to participating employers in the administration and operations of PEBA benefits, with a focus on insurance.


  • Assist with PEBA insurance benefits training and education for participating employers. Assist with one-on-one sessions and online training sessions.
  • Participate in employer advisory group meetings.
  • Annually review and edit insurance and retirement presentations, scripts, videos, manuals, and other training materials.
  • Assist employers with the administration of PEBA insurance benefits by responding to inquiries via various formats. Assist employers by explaining the benefit programs, health & wellness programs, resources, open enrollment and basic functions of the employer portals. Assist with employer inbox and promote PEBA online resources.
  • Communicate the requirements and conditions for optional employer and charter school insurance participation.
  • Provide assistance to new employer implementations. Assist with explaining requirements for participation, basic employer portal functions, benefit programs and resources. Assist with newgroup inbox and member inquiries about the PEBA benefits.
  • Participate in PEBA:Connect and the implementation of a new benefits administration system.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related experience in state insurance programs.

In addition to 13 paid holidays, this position is eligible for comprehensive insurance programs, retirement plans, and a generous paid leave program. An eligible employee in this position may also participate in the agency's remote work program.
