Benefits HRIS Specialist Job at VAN NESS FELDMAN LLP
Van Ness Feldman, LLP, a mid-sized Georgetown law firm that specializes in energy, natural resources, environmental and transportation policy seeks a Benefits/HRIS Specialist to support the Firm’s benefits operations from the systems perspective. This role administers all benefits activities in ADP Workforce Now. This role works with the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager to maintain accuracy of the data in ADP and with the benefits carriers. In collaboration with the HR team, this role consults with employees on benefits related matters as needed.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including but not limited to health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness initiatives.
- Ensures the company adheres to compliance requirements for benefits plans, including ACA filing, non-discrimination testing, 5500 filing, Sections 125, and 129.
- Assists with annual retirement plan audit.
- Processes data and maintains the ADP HRIS database for all HR and benefit programs Ensures accuracy of benefits data electronically fed to benefits carriers.
- Reconciles monthly benefit invoices and submits for payment.
- Works with Human Resources Manager during open enrollment. Ensures the accuracy of the Open Enrollment data.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of employee benefits communication materials and updates the intranet accordingly.
- Conducts onboarding process including performing HR and benefits new hire orientation.
- Completes employment verifications.
- Completes the EEO report annually.
- Completes annual salary surveys.
- Creates and runs HRIS reports.
- Stays up to date on benefits and payroll laws.
- Plays an active role in the successful operation of the Human Resources Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or similar field, minimum of 5 years of human resources experience. The candidate must be proficient with spreadsheets (Excel). ADP Workforce Now experience highly preferred. Service industry experience preferred.
