This is a new project for Citizens Advice Rural Cambs, which is funded by Cambridgeshire County Council. Through it we aim to provide advice and support for clients across East Cambridgeshire, Fenland and Huntingdonshire with issues they are facing through the Cost of Living crises. We are looking for someone who believes in the Citizens Advice mission and is looking for a new opportunity to have a positive impact on the local community. This role will be pivotal in supporting our advice services but with the main focus being the delivery of this new project.
Following training, you will be able to provide information and advice to members of the public on the phone, web chat and email, together with providing a face-to-face service, as required, advising primarily on welfare benefits and the provision of:
- tailored income maximisation advice
- support with budgeting
- benefit checks
- advising on other opportunities for increasing income and/or reducing expenditure, either by making an application on clients’ behalf or providing resources for the client to do it themselves.
Citizens Advice Rural Cambs is a local charity serving at the heart of our community, covering Fenland and Huntingdonshire and through this project East Cambridgeshire, entirely funded by grants and donations, and we are a member of national Citizens Advice. Citizens Advice Rural Cambs values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.
Every local Citizens Advice is a registered charity. Different application procedures are adopted by individual local Citizens Advice. Contact the relevant one as outlined in the information about this role. You should not send an application form to national Citizens Advice.
All local Citizens Advice produce their own annual report, but you can find out more about the Citizens Advice network or download the latest national Citizens Advice annual report.
