Position Description:
The Behavioral Coach will work closely with youth and/or adolescents to provide positive support and interventions.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
· Provide behavioral coaching to children, adolescents, and families in the home and/or school.
· Participate in Child and Family Team meetings.
· Develop age-appropriate interventions based on behavioral goals established by the Team.
· Teach behavioral interventions to the client(s), reinforce follow-through, and report findings.
· Complete documentation and submit it within the required time frames.
· Partake in weekly supervision and scheduled training.
Primary Objectives:
· As applicable; assist, teach, coach, and mentor individuals in skills of daily living including but is not limited to coping skills strategies, housekeeping, personal hygiene and grooming, budgeting, shopping, community activities, and community resources.
· Ensure the daily completion of goals identified in the person’s Treatment Plan, Behavioral Plan, or Child Family Team meetings.
· Serves as a point of contact and ensures ongoing collaboration including the communication of appropriate clinical information with other involved parties as appropriate and
coordination of care with a person’s family, behavioral and general medical and dental health care providers, community resources, and other involved supports including educational, social, judicial, community, and other state agencies.
· Demonstrate skills in planning, implementing, and coordinating health promotion strategies including health and wellness activities
· Working knowledge of DSM IV, community resources, clinical methods and procedures, and application of the same. Knowledge of psychotropic medications
Required Personality, Abilities, Requirements and Maturity:
· College graduate with a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field preferred. A High School Diploma with 5 years of experience is acceptable.
· Participate in all required meetings and trainings. (Child and Family Team, staffing, department and BFCS Team meetings, etc.)
· Computer Skills are required
· Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
· Proficient in De-escalation and behavioral management, and crisis intervention methods.
· Valid AZ Driver’s License and MVR clearance and current auto insurance.
· Fingerprinting Clearance Card, Level 1 (at time of hire).
· Experience working with multi-cultural and low socio-economical individuals.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
