In a banquet event setting, execute all bar functions from start to finish for events. Set up the bar and register, to prepare for any and all banquet events. Procures and prepares the bar for service and maintains all aspects of the bar throughout the entire event and perform all bar and banquet closing duties when needed. Assist servers and other banquet staff whenever and wherever needed. Expected to provide top level customer service to all guests. Maintain the ability to mix/serve/pour alcoholic beverages to club standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all bar procedures and policies including but not limited to paperwork and financial accounting of register

· Must be able to stand on your feet for several hours and/or walking for extended periods of time 6-8 hour shifts.

· Responsible for keeping accurate inventory of all beverages

· Must keep a correct account of registrar and all monies cash/credit cards

· Plan and coordinate all logistics of Members and guests who are planning private functions through email, written communications, telephone, and face to face meetings and facility tours to ensure a successful event.

· Inspects finished arrangements and adds final touches at last moment; may be present to oversee the actual service and greeting guests.

  • Assist other bartender and work together to give the best possible customer experience
  • Take all drink orders and quickly mix and pour beverages in line with all club standards and procedures
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 45-50lbs on a regular basis
  • Required to frequently bend down and/or kneel to lift items
  • Must remove any and all trash when needed
  • Interact with members / guest and ensure the quality of guest and member service.
  • Stocking and stacking of all bar items and glassware
  • Is required to adhere to practice and follow all California and ABC alcoholic beverage laws
  • Must card all persons/guests that appear to be under the age of 30 for proper identification showing they are over 21
  • Must practice good judgment when serving alcohol and never over serve a customer/guest or serve alcohol to any guest who exhibits signs of inebriation
  • Accurately ring in and record all drink orders to keep and provide a beverage spread sheet for inventory and accounting purposes
  • Must file and notate all paperwork properly in accordance with club rules and policies
  • Required to prep all areas of the bar including cutting fruit and making sure all mixers and juices are available for service
  • May be required from time to time to bus tables and serve food at some events
  • Follow all proper procedures for all types of bar services including but not limited to cash bar, hosted bar, and on consumption bar
  • May be required to assist banquet servers in all aspects of banquet events including set up and tear-down, bussing, serving food and beverages
  • Must follow all bar opening and closing procedures including keeping an accurate bank and doing the money drop after the event

Skills/Qualifications

Required to operate bar in a fast paced environment during events. Must be able to mix and pour all beverages to Club standards. Maintain a clean bar/work area at all times. Outgoing personality, positive attitude and strong communication skills. Sound judgment and solid leadership skills and experience. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures and function. Be 21 years of age. Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes. Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register. Complete training for ABC Certification and have a food handler’s certification.
