Barista/Bakery Assistant Job Qualifications & Responsibilities:

We are looking for an outgoing, creative, and enthusiastic bakery assistant to join our team. This position puts you into the unique role as the main point of contact between the head baker and the customers. The ideal candidate would collaborate with the bakery team on current, seasonal, and future menu options for both our bakery case and coffee bar. You will have opportunities to create your own beverages, freedom to set up displays as you see fit, and encourage customers to try new items you’re excited about! Your job responsibilities will include:

• Greeting all customers immediately with a smile
• Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and specialty beverages
• Providing customers with drink menus, providing suggestions, and answering their questions regarding ingredients
• Taking orders while paying attention to details such as coffee blend preferences, dairy and sugar ratios, etc
• Serving beverages and prepared food such as cookies, pastries, breads
• Packaging and slicing bakery products
• Setting and overseeing the bakery case
• Packaging remaining products from bakery case and closing down the espresso bar at the end of the shift
• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, utensils and equipment
• Cleaning coffee bar and seating areas; maintaining a clean and orderly working environment
• Maintaining coffee bar stock
• Checking if brewing equipment operates properly and reporting any maintenance needs
• Complying with health and safety regulations
• Communicating customer feedback to managers
• Great communication and customer service skills
• Positive and approachable demeanor
• Enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge
• Team player attitude
• Being available for early morning shifts

Additional training will be provided by our coffee vendor, however, previous experience in a coffee shop or café experience is highly preferred

Schedule: Early Morning Shift - 6am to 2:30pm

Payment: Hourly $17.00 plus tips
