Barber Job at Neighborhood Barber Shop
Neighborhood Barber Shop is a new endeavor I have started by myself. I am a US Air Force pilot and have lived in Playa Del Rey for nearly a year. Theme of the shop is modern-vintage with the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry, Aretha Franklin etc. on the speakers. I would like to find one barber/stylist to work as manager of the shop. As manager, you will be in charge of day to day operations and being the face of the company to the community. Playa Del Rey has a small town feel but big town clientele with Marina Del Rey, Venice & Manhattan Beach as neighbors. Maintaining the respect and admiration of the community will fall on the lead barber/stylists shoulders. Insurance and 401k not offered at this time, but will consider these benefits as well as other bonuses after 1 year of employment. Commission based pay ranging 60/40 to 80/20 based on experience, revenue and negotiation at time of hiring
- A barber license or cosmetology license from an accredited program.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Knowledge of current trends, styles, and hair care products.
- Communicate with customers throughout the appointment to ensure that they are having a pleasant and comfortable experience.
- Maintain an effective work environment, making sure to clean it after every appointment, and to restock on hair care products as needed.
- Schedule appointments, provide punctual service, and collect payment from customers at the end of each session.. It is a small unique barber shop and I plan on taking care of my employees very well.
Also, looking for 2-5 additional barbers open to take on full time or part time positions. Must take care of personal appearance, be professional, and socially intelligent. Barber/cosmetology license required.
