Shifts Available: 06:00-14:30/7:00-15:30/14:30-19:00/15:30-23:00
Job Description:
The Baggage Handler will be responsible for assistance in the proper handling, positioning,
loading/unloading, carrying or otherwise transporting passenger luggage to and from specified areas
within Salt Lake City International Airport. Assistance in proper handling of oversized, overweight or
otherwise unusually shaped luggage including, but not limited to – ski’s, golf clubs, car-seats and
strollers. Ensuring that luggage is handled with care and strictly adhering to all Prospect, Carrier and
Airport policies. Ability to effectively communicate with passengers, co-workers, airline and airport
personnel.
Essential Functions:
The individual may be required to:
Stand, walk, bend and lift for ¾ of more of their work shift.
Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language, both written and verbal.
Must be able to read and interpret a bag tag.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds or more on occasion
throughout their work shift.
Must meet all airport requirements necessary to obtain and maintain a Salt Lake City
International Airport SIDA ID Badge.
Must successfully pass an initial training class including on the job training.
Must strictly adhere to Company, Carrier and Airport policies and guidelines.
Applicants must be able to work any shift, including weekends and night shifts. Weekends are
mandatory for part-time employment. One weekend day off may be granted for full-time employment.
