Baggage Belt Maintainer Job at COUNCIL FOR AIRPORT OPPORTUNITY
Summary
Council for Airport Opportunity (CAO) is a non-profit organization that supports the airport community with its talent acquisition needs. CAO has a proven track record for sourcing and staffing the right talent for top companies at JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia Airports. The Baggage Belt Maintainer will work onsite at EWR Airport.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintainers are responsible for the operation of the belt
- Must insure proper spacing of bags and monitor the build up of bags on the carousels
- Must insure that the bags are aligned as required and/or immediately clear any resulting jams
- Maintainers are responsible for the manual movement of baggage in the event of a system outage
- Must perform general cleanup of work areas in and around the conveyor equipment at a frequency required to maintain units free of trash, dirt and debris.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Bend, stoop, and crawl to work in tight, restricted areas. Push, pull, lift and carry components weighing up to 45 pounds
- Must be able to climb 10 – 25 ft. in height on ladders and perform duties.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Must be reliable and available to work varied hours, weekends, and holidays
