Production Supervisor – Bag Line

Location: Dinuba, CA

Fresh Select is looking for a competent Production Supervisor – Bag Line; this individual is responsible for supervising the bag line employees. This position plans and assigns work, while taking initiative to increase our bag line production stats while reducing our total cost outlay. The Production Supervisor – Bag Line assists with other duties or projects as assigned by management when needed. The Production Supervisor – Bag Line adheres to Ensure Food Safety System are adhered to in all processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for bag line production efficiency.
• Ensures that all materials needed for bag line runs are available and put in request to reorder the needed materials prior to running out.
• Performs regular bag line raw material inventory and not limited to investigating discrepancies and present results to management.
• Responsible for all bag line material inventory related items.
• Responsible for accurate finish product inventory verification with Tally Dept.
• Scheduling of employees needed for each bag line run.
• Strive to have employees focused on production and others on inventory management.
• Ensure that employees are following all food safety practices.
• Schedule regular maintenance for the Bag Line machines with Maintenance Dept.
• Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
• Track & report absenteeism to Human Resources.
• Oversee Fresh Select Bag Line Team training and documentation.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job.
• Perform accident investigations and report to Human Resources.
• Ensure that all employees are taking timely breaks and lunches as required by law.
• Ensure that all employees are following all company policies and procedures.
• Work with Human Resources regarding labor, disciplinary issues, training and other.
• Maintain open lines of communication between employees and management in all departments.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Preferably 2+ year of experience in food manufacturing environment or packing house.
• Computer skills and email etiquette.
• Must be able to count and do basic high school math.
• Ability to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
• Team player, able to lead and ability to get along in a group environment
• Strong communication skills and follows directions.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required
• Reliable attendance is an essential function on the job.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work in production/warehouse/shipping areas 90% of the time and behind a computer 10% of the time.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to work in cold and hot environment
• Standing, sitting, and walking for prolong periods
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move 30 lbs. and occasionally push/pull/lift 50+lbs.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to wear all required PPE.
