Collections Specialist
Primary Responsibilities
- Review aging of assigned portfolio of approximately 800 accounts with credit limits < $35k. Identify high risk/delinquent accounts and initiate collection action. Action includes but is not limited to placing orders on hold and contacting customer for payment via email, and/or phone. Document customer contact and collection actions taken in accounts receivable system and physical file as needed.
- Manage accounts to assigned credit limit.
- Analyze credit service bureau data as needed and recommend changes required to credit limit or collection action.
- Make recommendations on accounts receivable reserve for accounts within assigned portfolio.
- Provide input when placing accounts with a collection agency or a third-party attorney.
- Notify sales of delinquent accounts and any actions being taken. Request assistance where appropriate.
- Perform account reconciliation as needed. Identify deduction patterns and possible operational issues as needed. Answer in-bound phone calls from internal and external customers and provide first call resolution.
- Reviews credit hold report and release orders as appropriate.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability/Other
- 1 to 5 years of B2B collections in a high-volume environment
- ERP systems experience preferably SAP
- Ability to make decisions, set priorities and drive goals
- Basic Excel skills
- Organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and as part of the team
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of Dunn & Bradstreet credit bureau reports preferred
- Strong customer focus
- Will consider Finance or Accounting students with relevant experience
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
