    Auditorium Technician/ District Systems Support Specialist

    We are seeking an energetic, collaborative team member to work with our students to empower them to discover and achieve their potential! This team member will provide effective services to help all of our students succeed, socially, emotionally, behaviorally.

    In this Role:
    Our District is seeking a skilled and experienced Technician to support the facility in its coordination of district/community/professional events and bridge the gap between maintenance, facilities and technology by creating a more efficient work flow of District needs, including maintenance and custodial support.

    • Assists in the technical coordination and execution of events in our Auditorium.
    • Serves as acting Technical Coordinator for events as directed on specific nights and weekends.
    • Assistance in setup of stage for rehearsals and all District events.
    • Offers specialized technical design assistance and technical support for productions. This includes all audio/visual equipment, physical setup of equipment,
    • Manages light and sound console operation and supply inventory; offers technical support and operation during stage-use; active in load-in and load-out of events.
    • Closely work with auditorium and activities users/managers to ensure success of events.
    • Day-to-day management and operations of District systems that include cameras, door access controls, building technology systems (paging, bells, speakers, clocks, etc.), scoreboards/booth systems, and TV and digital signage across the District.
    • Light electrical capabilities (wiring).
    • Overall appearance of the auditorium, including maintenance and cleaning.
    • Coordinates work with outside contractors.
    • Fosters a collaborative and supportive relationship with WPS faculty/staff/administration and students.
    • Works with students to teach them aspects of the role and supervises their responsibilities.
    • Additional duties as directed by our Director of Operations and Director of Technology.

    What You Need:
    • Familiarity with appropriate backstage conduct and safety regulations.
    • Knowledge of technical theater equipment and technical components preferred.
    • Computer competence necessary.
    • Maintenance knowledge and technical capacity to perform all maintenance functions.
    • Strong technical knowledge of information systems - including door access, school communication systems, and school operations technology.
    • Effective communication skills – written, oral, and visual.
    • Able to interact professionally with patrons, performers and district employees.
    • Organized and able to multi-task in an ever-changing environment.
    • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, climb ladders, etc.
