Who is Mount Hermon Association?

We’re a large Christian camp and conference center located near Santa Cruz, CA with over 100 years of ministry. Please note, this position is considered a Ministerial position, which means the ideal candidate will be a strong and mature Christian in accordance with the MHA values.

What does an AV Tech do at Mount Hermon do?

• Provide quality A/V services for the events taking place at Mount Hermon. This includes mixing live music, operating lighting systems, operation of cameras and recording equipment, as well as visual presentation software.
• Assist with event pre-planning including programing, setup, and patching
• Assist with organizing, maintaining, and deploying A/V equipment around all Mount Hermon sites
• Provide customer service and technical assistance for individuals renting or using A/V equipment

Our ideal candidate:

• Is a at least a high school graduate.
• Has previous experience in audio/visual production work and preferrably has strong experience in live sound mixing
• Is proficient with audio fundamentals including balanced vs unbalanced signals, signal levels, phantom power, microphone types and directionality, types of signal cables, direct input boxes, amplifiers, and speakers
• Is experienced with mixing front of house and monitor mix sound on digital sound mixers like Allen & Heath Avantis, Behringer X32, and Mackie DL16S
• Is familiar with Renewed Vision ProPresenter 7 and other software presentation programs
• Is familiar with LightKey or similar DMX lighting fixture control software
• Is familiar with DAW software, especially PreSonus Studio One
• Is familiar with basic video production, including PTZ cameras, Blackmagic Design video switchers, and livestream encoding
• Has experience with field recording equipment like Zoom H6 recorders
• Is able to troubleshoot and problem solve in a professional manner.
• Is able to maintain high standards of attention to detail on tasks like cable management and setup cleanliness
• Is able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
