Infinity Healthcare Management is a leading healthcare consulting company for many of the top long-term care facilities in the nation. This Associate General Counsel position will expose a qualified candidate to a full range of experiences within healthcare, the fastest and most rewarding industry in today’s job market. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the General Counsel and the executive team. The Associate General Counsel’s tasks will include but not be limited to:

1) Assisting with management of corporate transactions, company litigation (including complex commercial cases, class actions, EEOC cases, and workers compensation claims), including overseeing outside counsel, devising successful litigation strategies, compiling discovery responses, and reviewing all pleadings. Very hands on, including drafting and editing of work product.

2) Partner with the General Counsel and internal business clients to both analyze legal/regulatory risk and develop practical options to mitigate such risk on a wide spectrum of issues.

3) Provide guidance to clients regarding established corporate-wide compliance program, policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and other governmental requirements as appropriate.

4) Communicate compliance standards to employees, physicians, business partners and contract personnel.

5) Assist with state surveys, inspections, and appeals. Review Corrective action plans, and dispute civil monetary penalties.

6) Appear on behalf of facilities for involuntary discharge hearings, and conservatorship hearings.

7) Review, Negotiate, and educate staff on vendor, third party provider, healthcare related contracts.

Requirements

  • 3 years of long term care experience
  • 3 years of transactional, compliance, and healthcare law experience
  • Licensed to practice as an Attorney in Indiana, and a preference will be provided to candidates who are dually licensed in Illinois.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong experience drafting transactional documents, conducting research, and managing traditional and electronic discovery.
