The Role

The Associate Director, Finance – Equity Programs is a critical member of the Financial Reporting and Accounting team within Genmab’s growing Corporate Controller’s organization. S/he will be a key member of the team in overseeing the end-to-end equity process including leading Genmab’s new equity administration system implementation.

The equity process includes grants to new hires and annual grants, terminations, vesting of RSUs and exercise of warrants, monthly closing entries, and quarterly and annual reporting requirements including partnering with our Legal, Compensation & Benefits, Accounting Operations and Payroll teams as well as external equity partners. Together with the entire global Genmab Finance team your comprehensive expertise in equity processes will add value on a constant basis.

Success in this role will require strong system experience, change leadership skills, business partnering skills cross functionally and externally, and strong operational knowhow.

Responsibilities

  • Lead stock plan administrative system implementation in partnership with internal and external partners
  • Drive automation and process improvement efforts across systems (new stock plan system, payroll systems, etc.)
  • Own new hire grant process of RSUs and Warrants periodically, and annual grant process, including updating of Black Scholes calculation
  • Partner with Compensation & Benefits on termination process
  • Liaison with Technical Accounting on application of forfeiture assumptions
  • Work through monthly closing activities including recording of IFRS 2 share-based compensation expense
  • Provide audit support for quarterly reviews and year-end audits, as well as ensuring that internal controls (SOX) and procedures are operating efficiently and effectively
  • Expert of all reporting schedules (key reports) impacting our interim report, annual reporting, 20-F and compensation reports
  • Partner with Accounting Ops to ensure compliance with income and tax reporting requirements
  • Liaison with Compensation & Benefits to provide education to employees on equity compensation
  • Improve formal equity-related procedures, policies, and controls

Requirements

  • 8+ years of equity system and reporting experience at global public company
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance with working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance matters related to equity programs and taxation
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP and SOX
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, efficiently prioritize tasks, and adhere to critical deadlines
  • Confident working with various levels of management and handling highly confidential data
  • Advanced Excel skills for expert reporting
  • Knowledge of SAP, SAP S/4HANA a plus
  • Biotechnology or Life Science experience a plus
