Overview:
A Child Care Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for young children to preteens. Their duties include coming up with creative and educational activities, preparing and serving snacks to children and maintaining a clean environment for the children.

Responsibilities:
Child Care Workers are responsible for the well-being of the children under their care. They must monitor the children all day to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner. Some of their typical duties include:
- Ensuring the children have good hygiene and changing diapers as necessary.
- Cleaning interactive areas throughout the day.
- Preparing meals and snacks for the kids.
- Organizing activities and developing curriculum for older children.
- Developing a schedule for the children to maintain throughout the day.
- Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests and any problems that may occur.
- Maintaining contact with the children’s parents and contacting them in the case of an emergency.
- The classroom teacher performs a variety of duties with the ultimate goal of providing children in our care with love, support, training, education, and fun all within a safe environment.
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that utilizes the space, materials, routines and guidance to facilitate physical, social/emotional, and intellectual development within the guidelines and philosophy of our company.
- Monitor and assist the children with their personal hygiene including handwashing, toileting, and/or diapering.
- Maintain the health, safety, and welfare of the children by providing a clean and healthy environment, constant supervision, and positive interaction both verbally and physically throughout the day. Complete documentation for any concerns or incidents the same day as they occur and report those to management immediately.
- Serve meals, eat with the children except infants, and interact during meal time. Help the children develop good manners and nutritional habits.
- Complete all attendance documentation. Provide daily sheets to each parent with positive discussion about their child’s day.
- Attend all required staff meetings and training. Share information with other staff members as needed for the successful operation of the program. Maintain confidentiality regarding company, staff, children, and family information.
- Meet and maintain all state licensing requirements/qualifications and comply with CNI policies and procedures at all times. This includes meeting all training requirements by the state and the company.
- Maintaining awareness of child abuse, neglect, child welfare, and all licensing regulations and reporting procedures required by law. It is mandated by law that all concerns of abuse or neglect be reported immediately. Our company also asks that employees bring this to the attention of management immediately.
- Maintain flexibility regarding the business demands of the school, including schedule and classroom assignment. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
- Participate in ways to maintain a cooperative atmosphere in the school by exhibiting a pleasant and cooperative attitude.
Physical requirements:
- Sit on the floor or in child sized furniture.
- Reach with arms and lift up to 35 pounds regularly throughout the day.
- Walk, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, run, and be physically active at a child’s level.
- Willingness to be exposed to weather conditions during outside time with your assigned class.
