Job Description
The Goddard School, an early childhood education center, located in Plainfield, IL is currently seeking part-time Assistant Teachers for our morning, mid-day, or afternoon shifts. Voted the North Shore’s Best from 2009 - 2021, The Goddard School of Plainfield is a renowned program with a play-based foundation that continues to set the standard for excellence. General Qualifications
An Assistant teacher must meet the qualifications of Illinois and the following qualifications:
- the ability to understand and support the education program using “learning through play” philosophy;
- the ability to interact closely with children at their level;
- the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, children, and parents;
- the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare.
Educational Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Assistant Teacher Responsibilities
An Assistant Teacher’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Engage with children in meaningful play and activities
- Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
- Respect cultural and ethnic diversity
Job Type: Part-time, we can offer flexible hours!
