Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting projects managed by the SIG SAUER Project Management Team, including the management of basic projects and sub-projects with limited complexity. This position must be very self-driven, organized, detail-oriented, and able to coordinate activities between the Project Manager and interdisciplinary project team members. They will be responsible for driving the delivery of work packages and action items to established timelines, running project sub-team meetings, and maintaining clear lines of communication between project team members and the Project Manager. The Assistant Project Manager will also manage administrative tasks for the projects including but not limited to supporting the management of the project schedule, maintenance of project documentation, artifacts, trackers, recording and distributing meeting minutes, and project-level reporting.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plans and supports (or organizes) projects and sub-projects with limited complexity under the direct supervision of the Project Manager or Director.
  • Drives and monitors daily progress of project work packages and activities to meet the project schedule with the project team members in support of the Project Manager.
  • Provides detailed updates to Project Managers, project team members, and project stakeholders.
  • Organizes and maintains project documentation and artifacts, trackers, and reports.
  • Manages the launch of individual Bill of Materials components through the part development lifecycle from ideation to production with direct supervision.
  • Maintains an intermediate SIG SAUER NPI process knowledge and mastery.
  • Supports the maintenance and continuous improvement efforts of NPI processes and procedures.
  • Engages in and actively volunteers for continuous improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participates in and sustains 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required safety and ISO procedures.
  • Must be able to travel infrequently.
  • Miscellaneous duties assigned.
