We are currently seeking an Assistant Operations Manager.
Schedule: Monday thru Friday (Occasional Saturdays when needed)
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Responsible for all facility operations in Tireco’s 1.1M sq. ft. national distribution center.
- Manage receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Control inventory levels, reconciling with WMS system.
- Oversee a safe, clean and orderly operating environment.
- Responsible for the accuracy of shipments.
- Ensure facility, material handling equipment and storage media is maintained in good condition.
- Control Team Member planning, time management, safety, and workflow planning.
- Sustain warehouse staffing through coaching, counseling, recruiting, selecting and training of Team Members.
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Ensures inventory accuracy is maintained at levels acceptable to company standards.
- Adhere to a monthly/yearly budget acceptable to cost control performance measures.
- Review departmental budgets.
- Utilize a “Creativity before Capital” approach in managing and leading the facility.
- Develop strategies and programs to reduce costs and lead times, increase inventory turns and order turnaround time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- A BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Management or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years warehouse operations management in a large (650K sq. ft. or larger) facility.
- Experience in managing 75+ dock doors.
- Experience with WMS systems.
- Proven excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of computers to operate effectively with Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Warehouse and forklift safety. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
- Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, budget management.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish).
