GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The AD is responsible for the case management services of the program under the leadership and guidance of the Director. Assures daily case management services are running effective and efficiently; provides regular and timely reports to ORR regarding operations and services; elevates any issues or concerns to management; and maintains a respectful and supportive workplace environment. This position will comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those of ORR and the CT State welfare system.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides direct supervision of case managers, conducts performance evaluations, coordinates and conducts staff training, and provides recommendations for other personnel actions. Ensures staffing ratio requirements are met and monitors time and attendance/overtime. Coordinates and conducts staff training and development; and ensures staff training requirements are met.
  • Must support a safe and timely release of clients through collaboration with Treatment Team and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures process and program improvement and/or development by utilizing data driven output and/or information including but not limited to ensuring documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provides assistance in crises and attends and/or leads groups as needed.
  • Oversee all transportation needs including ensuring intake and departure protocols are completed according to agency protocol.
  • Facilitates and participates in various meetings and committees including but not limited to team meetings, staff meetings, and core treatment team meetings.

  • Responsible for providing Administrative coverage and supporting on call as needed.
  • Serves as liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders to ensure safety planning, reporting, and documentation is completed and submitted per regulation and agency policy.
  • Adheres to agency policies and procedures; promotes and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s preferred, or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields plus 3 years of progressive employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience. Fluent in English/Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, outside of normal business hours including nights, weekends and on-call, as needed. Must have a current, valid driver’s license per Agency guidelines. Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external departments and/or stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills including building and maintaining effective work teams and ability to manage staffing for 7-day services.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy including but not limited to MS Office suite and other database systems.
  • Handles confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations pertaining to operation of programs.
  • Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
  • As a NCSS employee, you may be required to support other staffing needs in other locations and/or programs as directed.
REPORTS TO: The Assistant Director is supervised and accountable to the Program Director.
