Hybrid - Chicago, IL or Sunrise, FL

Summary: As a leader within the accounting team, this position is responsible for monitoring the overall financial health of the company. The position will establish and maintain accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for financial reporting and business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Execution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliation, and maintenance of appropriate controls over financial reporting.

Collaborate with FP&A in preparation of annual budget, monthly forecast and forecast variance review.

Assist in the annual audit including preparation of PBC items, support for audit samples, timely response to testing question and preparation of various footnote schedules within the audited financial statement.

Oversees general ledger maintenance including, but not limited to, trial balance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

Reviews, investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.

Utilize technology to drive continuous improvement of processes, reports, and controls

Approve vendor bills and expense.

Establishes and maintains effective professional working relationship with co-workers and management.

Able to shift between priorities as needed throughout the workday

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years accounting, auditing, or controllership experience
  • Journal Entry, Reconciliation, and Financial Statement Proficiency
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects from start to finish
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Interpersonal, writing, decision making skills
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exercise independent judgment to apply standardized guidelines
  • Requires attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
  • Ability to positively interact with all levels of company personnel, including executive level
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • CPA strongly preferred

Physical Expectations:
General office
Hybrid position – 3 days in office, 2 days remote (Chicago, IL or Sunrise, FL)
Travel - ~10%
