Munch’s Supply’s, a Midwest-based HVAC supplier seeks an Assistant Branch Manager at our Livonia, Michigan location located at 32713 Schoolcraft Rd. This position supports the Branch Manager by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch to ensure all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the staff while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security and satisfaction to customer and staff. In partnership with the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for supervision of staff, customer service, receiving, inventory control, merchandising, sales, safety, on time will call, counter sales assistance, product delivery, and the general operation of the branch.

Job Requirements

  • Provides excellent, prompt and professional customer service through timely customer interaction, problem resolution or escalation with effective and efficient follow-up.
  • Supports valued business relationships in all dealings with related departments aiming to resolve customer and other issues in a timely manner. Approaches peers and customers with a spirit of positive problem resolution.
  • Ensures high customer service levels are achieved by greeting customers by name, asking customers if they need assistance, and assisting expedite orders with counter staff and order pickers.
  • Supports the Customer Value Proposition of 1-hour Will Calls.

General

  • Assists the Branch Manager by either opening or closing each day as directed. Changes work schedule based on demands of the business as needed and directed.
  • Supports all areas of the operation for the branch which includes receiving, deliveries, merchandising, training, will calls, facilities management, safety, customer interactions, and all other operational areas.
  • Steps in during the absence of the Branch Manager to lead teams, assist customers, direct the flow of work, and respond to all operational needs of the business.
  • Provides for emergency openings as required (respond as 2nd on call list for Alarm or Fire when Branch Manager is unreachable)
  • Provides for after-hours openings .
  • Supervises counter sales/staff with direction, guidance, support, and follow-up.
  • Provides timely and efficient order pulling, will calls, and deliveries.
  • Promptly answers phones, returns phone calls to customers, and routes messages, notes or other communication as needed.
  • Adheres to safety procedures by example, addresses safety matters as needed with staff, and completes safety paperwork as needed when incidences occur.

Merchandising

  • Maintains clutter-free work stations, counter area displays, and branch signage
  • Provides flyers through display and signage and promotes their use with staff.
  • Provides and promotes new products displays and signage.
  • Maintains endcaps with proper products to reflect promotions & seasonality in a neat and consistent manner.
  • Maintains catalog library with updated product information and literature in a neat and clean manner.

Counter

  • Maintains visual display of front shelving and aisles, including endcaps.
  • Holds weekly meetings with counter staff reviewing new product, promotions, flyers, etc.
  • Ensures counter staff are promoting company initiatives as directed.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or its GED equivalent and some college coursework in a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience with logistics or distribution and related functions.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or its GED equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience with logistics or distribution and related functions
  • High degree of personal ethics, customer service, and commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments as well as have the ability to learn company enterprise systems as needed – Solar Eclipse, etc.
  • Aptitude for mathematical operations and numerical analysis.
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize, set and keep deadlines, change direction quickly, and adapt to various work environments easily.
  • Must be able to work independently and at times discreetly, use sound judgment, and make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to communicate well interpersonally, written, and in group settings as well as have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions oriented, and win-win approaches.
