Tarmac is in need of all positions, including roller operators, broom truck operators, and laborers for Asphalt Paving crews. All positions require related industry verifiable experience. Job sites typically range throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, and Pasco Counties, but on occasion, are sometimes within driving distance beyond that range. On occasion, out of town work is required. Daily overtime and occasional Saturdays work days are required.

• Experienced Asphalt Lute, Asphalt laborers, Roller and Street Broom Truck operators
• Paving Machine/Asphalt/Milling Machine Foreman/Operators All positions offer competitive pay based on your experience. Holiday pay, medical, dental and vision after 60 consecutive days of employment; vacation and 401k with employer matching after 1 year of employment.

Must have reliable transportation and a current valid Florida driver’s license. A CDL license is a plus.

Some training is available, if required. Laborers/Operators Pay Scale: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour. The higher the production, the higher the pay scale. If salaried, overtime is expected on an as-needed basis.

Paving/Milling Machine Foreman-Operator scale $85,000 to $140,000 per year. Does include some out-of-town work requirements on occasion.

Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner

• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Preheat paving screed before placement of asphalt and monitor and control temperature settings of the asphalt mixture.
• Align the paving machine into position when receiving asphalt by dump truck and maintain a constant flow of asphalt into the hopper; ease paver forward, safely pushing dump truck along construction surface.
• Observe distribution of paving material along screed and control the direction of the screed to eliminate voids at curbs and joints.
• Line paver appropriately to the work area, and ensure proper application of the asphalt, smoothing it evenly to the desired height, width, and depth

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in road construction industry
• 2+ years of experience operating a paver is required
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to use phone and programs efficiently
• Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements
• Asphalt and/or concrete: 2 years (Required)
• Road Construction Industry: 3 years (Required)
• Paver Operating: 2 years (Required)
