Antrim County Animal Control Director Job at Antrim County
Antrim County is now taking applications for an Animal Control Director. Under supervision of the County Administrator, directs employees and enforces state laws and local ordinances dealing with animal control and issues citations for violations. This is a working supervisor position. Responds to citizen complaints regarding animals and patrols the county to pick up stray animals and respond to other animal related concerns. Investigates and follows up on charges of animal abuse. Oversees and participates in the maintenance and cleaning of the shelter and performs a variety of other tasks related to shelter operations; other duties are listed in the detailed job description. Five years of progressively more responsible experience in animal control. Certification as an Animal Control Officer from the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture. Ability to be cross-deputized through the Sheriff’s Office. Starting salary of $52,000 with a 3-year step scale. Position includes a benefits package.
