Provi is looking for an Analytics Engineer who will provide leadership in building the business-facing side of our data warehouse. If you are excited about transforming raw data into clean, easy-to-use tables that are ready for analysis, this is the role for you. You will be part of Provi’s Analytics team and empowered to make key decisions in how our data warehouse is architected.
What you will be doing:
- Design, build, and maintain the analytics tables in our Snowflake data warehouse
- Collaborate with analysts and other business users to understand the business questions for which they need answers
- Collaborate with software engineers to understand our data sources and changes in those data sources
- Be a steward for our data by developing data documentation and ensuring data quality
What we hope to see in your experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role
- Expertise in translating business requirements into database schemas
- Expertise in designing well-performing database tables, both aggregated and granular
- Experience with cloud data warehouses and their best practices (Snowflake experience preferred)
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience working with semi-structured data types such as JSON and XMLExpert in SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, query optimization, and data compression
- Experience with Github or other version control tools
- Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) preferred
- Previous experience in high-growth startups is a plus
- Prior experience in marketplace business is a plus
