Southern Foodservice Management is seeking a talented Line Cook to service an action station for the 3rd shift food service operations at the Cafe at our VOLKSWAGEN account in Chattanooga, TN. Candidates should be committed to providing the best possible dining experience for the employees and guests of the Volkswagen campus. We’re looking for a professional who will deliver excellent customer service and quality food and who will help build a culinary and service Team who is passionate about serving the VW employees and guests.

This position is need on the 1st Shift, Monday - Friday - 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

Job Summary

Setup action station for service each day and ensure the highest quality food products are being prepared for employees and guests. Creates dishes based on standeredized recipes, chef instruction, and customer preferences. Keeps saftey and sanitation front of mind while preparing food.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures meals are prepared using standardized recipes to provide consistent quality. Develops menus for guests with a focus on presentation technique and quality standards.
  • Performs a pre-meal meeting with culinary and service Team to review detail of daily menus
  • Assists with daily cleaing tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Assists in the coordination and execution of special events.
  • Maintains kitchen cleanliness and food preparation according to state and local health department code requirements.
  • Ensures all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean at all times.
  • Oversees the proper inventory, storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Keeps waste to a minimum by utilizing food storage and food recycling techniques.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Cook
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Dedicated to food quality and control with a high level of creativity
  • Full understanding of proper food handling and sanitation standards
  • Flexible schedule required
