Position Summary

The Advisory Software Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining applications that can be high-volume and low latency. Analyze user requirements to define business objectives. Envision system features and functionality.

Job duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems, applications and/or components ﴾cloud and/or in‐house﴿.
• Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
• Serve as technical expert on development projects.
• Lead full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
• Provide technical guidance and architecture design for third party business partners, along with peer reviews.
• Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
• Create AWS CI/CD pipelines with AWS Code Commit, Code Build and Code Pipeline.
• Develop cloud native development with AWS services, specifically data storage, compute, analytics.
• Ensure best practices are used for Data governance, and Data quality by encryption & the use of key management
• Develop software solutions leveraging Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using JUnit, Cucumber, or other like tools.
• Conduct software analysis using AWS analytics services such as Athena, Redshift, Glue, QuickSight, or Tableau.
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility and optimization.
• Is recognized as expert in field.

Minimum requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related fields, or equivalent experience required.
• Appropriate AWS professional certifications are required.

Previous Experience

• 10+ years of direct experience in application and service API development with Java, PHP, and Vue.js
• 3+ years of current AWS Cloud experience designing highly complex enterprise systems
• Expertise in markup languages such as XML/WSDL & JSON.
• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring 4 Core, Spring Boot
• Experience with Agile and Test-Driven Development (SDLC / Unit Testing, etc.).
• Proven experience interfacing with multiple roles within a development team.
• Excellent analytical, time management and organizational skills
