Advancement Manager Job at Michigan Humane
The Advancement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for all aspects of individual donor fundraising initiatives, gift processing, donor stewardship and database management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage a sound and sustainable strategy for growing annual gifts ranging from $1 to $4,999. Growth expectations include the number of individual annual fund donors as well as the amount of general operating revenue.
- Responsibilities include direct mail, digital and one-to-one solicitations, as well as tribute, matching and sustainer programs.
- Supervise a team of development professionals.
- Oversee direct mail vendor and program strategy, working with staff and account managers on planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting.
- Lead mid-level giving strategy and manage portfolio of donors towards building major gift pipeline.
- Coordinate development operations calendar for all Development activities, aligning with marketing, clinic and organizational activities and events.
- Activate, monitor and continuously improve donor-wide Stewardship Program and process.
- Oversee update and alignment of acknowledgement letters and messaging.
- Draft, edit and approve all fundraising messaging, including Direct Mail, digital, and sustainer solicitations, and newsletters.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and development team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to strategize, plan, execute and interact with tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and excel at planning, executing and following up on details.

- Ability to set priorities, to manage multiple projects, to demonstrate flexibility and to adapt successfully to changing demands. Meets deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with varied audiences and constituencies. Ability to establish and maintain respectful, effective relationships, demonstrating tact and discretion.
- Proficiency with Raiser's Edge, MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Solid internet research skills.
- Proficiency with social media.
