The Advanced Practice Provider Gateway Program – NPs/PAs – 14 Locations

Director of Advanced Practitioners, APP/Med Tech Regional Managers, and Provider on Duty
Position Summary:
CommunityMed Family Urgent Care is a mid-sized company looking to hire healthcare
professionals that can grow with us. We are looking to recent graduates of a NP or PA program or those who will be completing NP/PA school by the end of 2022 / early 2023. This role will allow you to get hands on clinical experience within an urgent care setting and provide a pathway for advancement early in your career!
- This role can lead to an APP Fellowship (Advanced Practice Provider) position where you can continue to learn through Didactics and immediately apply it in a work setting.
- Contingent on successful completion and position availability, Fellows could be considered for an Advanced Practice Provider role with CommunityMed.
The healthcare professional will be responsible for assisting the Provider on Duty. You will be responsible for routine administrative and clinical tasks to assist with keeping the urgent care running smoothly. This includes verifying patient information, records, and medical history, confirming the purpose of the patient visit, and performs any ordered procedures or labs.
Who we are looking for:
- RNs with 1+ years of experience who will be completing their NP program by end of 2022 / early 2023
- Recent NP graduates
- PA students / Recent Graduates with 1+ years of MA/EMT experience
- Experience in UR, ER, Acute Care settings highly preferred

- Approximately 3-6 months in a Med Tech Hourly role at an RN rate ($35/hr) to get familiar with day-to-day workflow
- Bi-weekly pay, schedule made 4-6 weeks in advance
- Goal is to help us through busy season and provide preferred spot for Fellowship program (ETA Spring/Summer 2023)
- Approximately 3-6 months in a Fellowship (Salaried role at rate equivalent of $50/hr)
- Involves shadowing a new CommunityMed Provider every month - will adopt and work the Provider's schedule
- Contingent on availability and good standing, opportunity to have preference when new openings for
- Advanced Practice Provider (Salaried role at rate equivalent of $60/hr + opportunity to pick up extra shifts if available)
- Tier System Levels 1-4 to provide opportunity for advancement and pay bumps over time
Hours:
Full-time is 3 shifts/week
- Hours of Operation: Monday - Saturday: 7:30am - 8:00pm and Sundays 11:30am - 8:00pm
- Full-time employees must be available to work rotating weekends (both Sat/Sun) but still 3 shifts/week i
- 1 on-call shift per month - must answer a call within 30 mins between hours of 6am-3:00pm that day
- Could potentially go to any DFW clinic (Not Wichita Falls) and $50 stipend will be provided
- CLINICS CLOSED ON:
- Thanksgiving Day + Christmas Day + Easter + New Year’s Day
- Schedules made 30+ days in advance
Required Qualifications
:
- Recent graduate of NP/PA program or active enrollment with graduation in end of 2022 / early 2023
- Preferred – 2+ years of experience in UR, ER, or Acute Care
- Preferred two (2) years of Medical Technician Experience (MA, LVN, EMT, etc) to include duties such as:
- Triaging, rooming patients, verifying reason for visit, recording vitals, etc
- Venipuncture and drawing for labs, Injections, Ability to start/stop IVs, etc
- DOT Physicals, Drug screens, BAT testing, assisting with splints/sutures or other wound care
- Perform EKGs, swabs for various POC testing (flu/strep/COVID)
- Current BLS Certification
- DOT Drug/BAT certification within 60 days of start date - CommunityMed can assist with this
- It is the sole responsibility of the employee to maintain any and all certifications, registrations, or requirements necessary as outlined by your licenses or educational programs. Failure to do so may result in termination as these are necessary for employment with CMUCS.

Responsibilities:
- Arrive to shift on time – 7:30am Monday – Saturday; 11:30am Sunday, unless otherwise noted.
- Room and triage patient; recording set information including vital signs.
- Performing physical examinations ie) tracking heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements.
- Interpreting health measurements, administering prescribed medication, and facilitating suitable treatment.
- Explaining treatments, procedures, and after-care instructions, as well as answering patients' questions.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and draw for labs.
- Ability to start IV lines and perform drug dose titration.
- Interpreting laboratory test results and collaborating with physicians on treatment plans.
- Reporting deteriorating conditions to primary healthcare specialists without delay.
- Maintaining and updating medical charts, patient files, and health records.
- Keeps supplies ready by stocking rooms, inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Perform occupational medicine testing.
- Educates patients on additional ways our clinic can help them.
- Be able to identify any facility or clinic issues and place a help desk ticket.
- Ensure every Tuesday, Occupational Med supplies are ordered and submitted for approval.
- Adhere to HIPAA and all other applicable federal and state mandates.
- Contact Medical Technician Manager in an event of an emergency call-in.
- Contact Medical Technician Manager with any issues, questions, etc. pertaining to the clinic or your shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Evenings, weekends, and holidays shifts are regularly 12 hours on all days except Sunday (8-hour shift).
