The Office of the Provost is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative support to the Assistant Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs with initiatives that enhance faculty diversity, equity and inclusion at UMBC and the Associate Provost for Financial Management and Chief of Staff with Academic Affairs financial and administrative matters.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $39,232 and has 11 days of vacation as well as winter break, spring break, and personal days for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.
Responsibilities Include:
- Schedule/calendar management
- Arranging logistics for meetings and events on and off campus
- Prepare travel arrangements and reimbursements
- Provide financial support as needed
- Complete journal entries
- Complete reconciliations monthly
- Run financial reports monthly
- P-Card holder
- Arrange travel, make general office purchases and other departmental related purchases in compliance with UMBC and State of Maryland guidelines
- Reallocate P-Card purchases and reconcile P-Card statement monthly
- Coordinate departmental physical and computer needs
- Maintain and update websites
- Inventory administration for the Office of the Provost
- Provide direct support for UMBC's Faculty Affinity Groups
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of experience providing administrative support
- Applicants should have an understanding and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in higher education and the ability to develop rapport with a diverse range of constituents including, administrators, faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders
- The position requires a high level of attention to detail and organization, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and perform tasks individually and/or in collaboration with others
- Applicants should be skilled in MS Office, Google Suites, Box, and Virtual Meeting hosting platforms
- Applicants must be available 2-3 evenings a semester
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
- Experience with performing general financial transactions
- Experience with web authoring tools is desirable
