The parent company for CD One Price Cleaners is seeking an individual to join the company in a new part-time Administrative Assistant/Paralegal position with the organization. Cleaners Depot Franchise, LLC is the parent company and franchisor of the thirty-nine unit CD One Price Cleaners franchise organization. The position will be based in the company’s new corporate headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, IL

CD One Price Cleaners is the market leader in dry cleaning and laundry chain in the greater Chicago market with 39 stores around Chicago, St. Louis and Minneapolis. We opened our first store 22 years ago in Lincolnwood and since that time, we’ve expanded our proven franchise model with strong operational processes and great customer-centric service. We’ve opened two new stores in the past year and we expect to open three more new stores in 2023.
About the role:
We are seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant/Paralegal for approximately 20 hours per week to play a key role in supporting our corporate office in a variety of ways with a focus on various franchise legal documents, real estate lease maintenance, Human Resource documentation and process management, individual entity annual state filings and assorted other administrative tasks supporting various team members in our franchise organization.
We are in a PEO (Professional Employment Organization) relationship with ADP TotalSource. Familiarity with franchising, franchise legal documents, real estate lease file management, PEO’s or with ADP TotalSource are all plus. This is a great part time opportunity for an experienced Admin Assistant/paralegal with flexibility to learn new things and an attention to detail across a number of areas.
We anticipate the role will require up to twenty hours per week depending on work flow and various deadlines. There will be special projects that arise during the year as well. While this role will be based in Oakbrook Terrace with time spent at the office, there is also flexibility for remote work on certain projects. We will work on an agreed-upon work schedule that works for the business and for you as the candidate.
What you'll do:
- Support the development, operations, legal and HR activities of the business.
- Assist in the management of a variety of files related to franchise contracts, real estate leases and maintain individual entity state registrations on an annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of final legal contracts with franchise owners (Franchise Agreements, Addendums, Franchise Disclosure Document (the FDD”) and annual renewals of the FDD with outside counsel. Load and track documents for execution utilizing DocuSign as appropriate. Forward final executed copies to all parties.
- Primary liaison with ADP TotalSource on all HR, benefit, and payroll matters as a PEO. Generate quarterly form reports from ADP for company management. Launch annual employee review process in ADP TotalSource each year. Familiarity with HR a plus, but not required.
- Tracking and upkeep of Certificates of Insurance for all franchisee owned and operated stores.
- Ability to help to organize, plan and track various franchise owner meetings including an Annual Meeting each December.
Our ideal candidate:
- At least 5 years previous experience as an Admin Assistant/paralegal for a small to medium size company or for a law firm.
- Experience with legal document preparation and filing a plus.
- Experience with ADP TotalSource or another PEO highly is a plus
- Will have a cross section of experience, flexible skills set, a strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new areas of the business with appropriate training and guidance.
- Once up to speed, must be an independent team member.
