Finance and Administration Manager – $70,000 to $90,000, negotiable based on experience – Washington, DC

The Role

FAMM is seeking a talented Finance and Administration Manager to join our national advocacy organization. In this role, you will be at the helm of our financial systems and procedures, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. From budgeting and financial reporting to grant management and expense tracking, you will play a crucial role in the financial health and sustainability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the Finance and Administration Manager include, but are not limited to:

Financial Management

  • Manage annual budget process and produce quarterly budget reports for each program.
  • Supervise activities performed by outsourced accounting firm, including payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and travel and event expenses.
  • Coordinate yearly audit and tax reports with outsourced accounting group and auditor.
  • Assist development manager with funding proposals and financial reports to grantors and contractors.
  • Coordinate development of the financial section of annual report.
  • Ensure that all finance and development reporting requirements are fulfilled.

Human Resources

  • Update and oversee administration of personnel and benefits policies, including policy manual.
  • Explain benefits to staff and handle questions or concerns about FAMM’s health care, COBRA, life insurance and disability benefits package.

Operations

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including central organization schedule and calendar.
  • Support implementation and management of timesheets and expense reports.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Finance and Administration Manager are:

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing internal operating systems.
  • Ability to align with and support the organization's mission.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience in nonprofit management and leadership.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective organizational and management skills.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • CPA certification preferred, but not necessary.
