Position Overview
The Marketing and Sports Management department in the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Lecturer for an undergraduate level course titled Social Media Marketing for Fall 2023 semester. The Fall 2023 semester runs Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 11:00 am–12:15 pm/12:30 pm–1:45 pm from August 28, 2023 until December 16, 2023. Sections are enrolled at approximately 40 students. The sections are on-campus. All applicants must be available to teach in person.
Position Summary
Social media has connected consumers with family and friends while also giving them considerable power over marketers and brands. This course offers an overview of how marketing has changed due to the increasing prominence of social media as a digital marketing tool. The curriculum of this course is designed to equip students with the relevant knowledge, perspectives, and practical skills required to both develop and present an effective social media marketing strategy. This is an elective course for business majors concentrating in marketing.

Qualifications:
Interested applicants should hold a master’s or doctoral degree in business or related area. Industry experience in social media and marketing research strongly preferred. Strong verbal/ written communication skills are essential. Additionally, the ability to foster an environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion is expected of all Merrimack community members.
