JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Activity Director is responsible for carrying out the facilities’ activity programs for residents. Develops, implements, and evaluates resident activity programs and individualizes comprehensive care plans, supervises and evaluates activities personnel, and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops a monthly activity schedule for residents offering programs that meet the interests and capabilities of individual residents. Plans age and developmentally-appropriate group activities for residents.
• Follows resident care plans and documents all activities residents participate in including family visits ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Reviews and updates resident care plans as necessary minimally quarterly
• Provides statistical information as required by the NYS DOH.
• Acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team and attends all resident care conferences (or designee). Acts as the liaison for the resident council.
• Directs and supervises the activities of staff and agency volunteers. Orients new activity staff
• Participates in public relations and community relations events
• Other duties as requested by Supervisor
