Kendal at Ithaca is seeking caring, creative, fun, and organized individual for a Full-time (40 Hours/Week), some evenings, weekends as an Activities Assistant in our Health Center.

Job Description

• Assist in the implementation of recreational programs for residents in the Health Center (skilled & assisted living).
• Initiate resident activity in both a group setting and individual basis.
• Promote good communication, and teamwork while providing quality connections with residents.
• Utilize creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to organize tasks and events in a timely manner.
• Provide positive life-enriching experiences for our residents.

Qualifications

• Experience with older adults in a long-term care setting
• Demonstrates patience to work with residents at all levels
• Comfort level with reading out loud in a group
• Background in art of music a plus

Pay: $17.83 - $18.89 per hour

• 8 hour shift

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before date of hire, including Booster if eligible, PPE available and used in accordance with NYS Department of Health and facility policies.

Experience:

• Dementia care: 1 year (Preferred)
• Recreational therapy: 1 year (Preferred)
