JOB TITLE: Achievers-Gear Up Program Counselor
Part-Time
Counselors are responsible for supervising participants while conducting educational, cultural, and recreational activities for Achievers-Gear Up program. Assist the Program Coordinator and Site Advisor with planning, coordination and implementation of the Achievers Gear Up program and curriculum for the 2022-2023 School year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. To supervise and interact appropriately with all participants in the program according to the curriculum standards.
2. To plan, implement and participate in all scheduled activities including, but not limited to, weekly lesson plans, sports, games, crafts, etc.
3. Be responsible for the safety of program participants at all times.
4. Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, program participants and other staff.
5. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and trainings.
6. To complete all required documentation for the program.
7. Responsible for maintenance and care of equipment and supplies.
8. To help with housekeeping tasks as necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
