Accreditation Program Manager Job at The City of Charleston, SC
We are looking for an Accreditation Program Manager to join the City of Charleston! In this role you will coordinate the full cycle accreditation process and ensure the department is compliant with national accreditation and regulation standards of applicable governing bodies, including but not limited to Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
Collaborates with key staff members to manage, develop, implement, maintain and evaluate current programs as well as create new and existing programs as appropriate.
Manages and coordinates departmental activities related to the accreditation process. Develops proofs of compliance for accreditation standards, prepares policy drafts, prepares written documentation and reports, maintains computer databases, develops and revises agency forms, coordinates on-site assessments and inspections, tracks the submission of required administrative reports, and works closely with staff on policy development and review.
Manages policy program within the police department; researching best practices, creating policies while guiding personnel within various groups in carrying out policies.
Manages the program implementation for State CALEA Accreditation to include process implementation, personnel assignment for standards and project management.
Oversees the Audit Policy revision program to include oversight of executive level decisions for changes to policies directly related to external stakeholder committees and inputs.
Assist in identification and development of new programs, systems, procedures or equipment to improve performance of the agency in compliance with standards. Participates in periodic inspections to establish and monitor compliance as it relates to departmental policies and procedures.
Ensures the appropriate and timely development of accreditation files.
Oversees the department’s policy management software to include maintenance and updates.
Assists in establishing short-and-long term goals and strategic planning for the department.
Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders to include serving as a liaison with other agencies and staff with regard to the accreditation process.
Prepares the department for and facilitates on-site accreditation inspections and manages personnel assigned to on-site accreditation team and leads personnel in accomplishing goals and objectives.
Maintains and monitors department compliance in auditing within relevant regulatory standards and renders assistance to divisions .Manages department historical and ceremonial initiatives.
Keeps senior level personnel aware of standard changes and/or areas for improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent; and two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid state issued driver's license.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software.
