Job Summary and Qualifications

Receives purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices for purchases. Verifies all documents before preparing check vouchers for payment. Prepares automated check, balances payable invoices, the check register and general ledger.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:

1. Education: High school diploma or GED.

2. Experience: 1 year of accounting experience

3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).

Essential Job Functions:

1. Receives invoices for purchases and matches invoice to purchase order and receiving report for quantity and price. Takes advantage of invoice discounts.

2. Processes patient refunds.

3. Posts invoices to automated system and prepares checks for payment.

4. Codes invoices with correct expense account and ensures invoices receive proper approvals. Posts month end accruals for unpaid invoices to general ledger.

5. Reconciles monthly statements from vendors.

6. Researches problem accounts and answers correspondence.

Additional Job Functions:

1. Assists Manager and Controller with daily office activities as assigned to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

2. Supports the mission and vision of the South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers (STRIC).

Understands and is committed to helping STRIC and its associated facilities achieve its goals.

3. Must learn and comply with STRIC safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function.

4. Adheres to the STRIC Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.

5. Completes other duties as assigned.
