JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Bookkeeper/Accountant will work closely with the Company President assisting with routine day-to-day administrative tasks related to company finances. We are seeking an individual with strong attention to detail and previous experience in an administrative/bookkeeping role; experience with QuickBooks Desktop and an understanding of basic accounting principles is a job requirement.
Essential Functions
- Accounts receivables
- Accounts payables
- Reconciliation of Credit Cards and Bank Accounts
- Processing of bi-weekly payroll and submission of taxes. Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
- Initiate and complete customer onboarding process.
- Initiate and complete Vendor setup process
- Deposit checks
- Lead and reconcile inventory counts for supplies and manufacturing materials
- Initiate and complete new employee onboarding process
- Provide regular and special financial statements when needed.
Position Type
This is a full-time position – 40 hours per week. Must be available to work between 8 am-4:30 pm. Occasional overtime to address special circumstance or deadlines but not routinely scheduled.
Compensation
This is an hourly wage, nonexempt position. Compensation will be based on experience. Benefits include an HSA Healthcare plan, Vision and Dental.
Job Site/Location and Travel. The Bookkeeper/Accountant will predominantly perform their work at the MRG headquarters office located at the JD Brown Center in York, PA. Occasionally, this job will need to perform work at a partner location, such as company CPA. The employee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, a registered and insured vehicle, and have also the ability to drive locally/regionally to conduct company business off-site, as needed.
Physical/Environmental Work Environment. The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting; The employee is constantly required to talk, hear, stand or sit for extended periods of time while using a computer, telephone, or other productivity devices to communicate with other personnel and conduct business. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently, uses hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects and computer keyboards. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, squat, turn/twist, and smell. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Company offices are located at a fully operational chemistry laboratory and light manufacturing facility, so there is a potential for some exposure to chemical compounds and equipment hazards. However, fume hoods and other measures greatly reduce detectable odors or vapors in the workplace to negligible levels; additionally, the company has in place and adheres to a Chemical Hygiene Plan to provide a safe working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but there can be some isolated areas of higher noise levels.
In certain work areas, employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, gloves, masks, face shields or similar protection. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas in or around confined spaces with some exposure to chemicals, grease, and oils, fumes and/or other compounds.
Background Checks and Building Access. Being able to secure a building access card is a requirement of employment. Eligibility for a building access card is based on the results of an independent background investigation being fully satisfactory to the building owner; York College of Pennsylvania, the building owner, performs background checks and issues building access cards.
Work Authorization/Security Clearances. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This Company does not sponsor applicants for work visas. If hired, you will be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) and to produce documentation of your identify and authorization to work in the U.S. within three (3) days beginning with your first day of work. THE COMPANY IS LEGALLY PROHIBITED FROM EMPLOYING ANYONE WHO CANNOT PROVIDE SUCH VERIFICATION.
The company may now have, or may establish in the future, a relationship with other businesses or organizations that require certain MRG employees obtain a U.S. government security clearance; should this requirement materialize for this position, this will be a condition of continued employment.
