Position Summary
As an integral member of the accounting department for this growing program and project management firm, you will be responsible for the preparation of accounting operational functions, including month-end journal entries, financial statements, and quarterly bank reporting. You will manage business registrations, annual business reporting, and minority business enterprise certifications, and provide financial support for project proposal requests.
You will manage the corporate credit card program, ensuring timely payment of statements, GL classifications, and documentation support. You will coordinate with Leaders to ensure adherence to company policies and timely submission of their expense reports. You will be trained as the accounts payable backup; periodically assist with input of vendor invoices and review of employee expense reports, and carry out additional duties as needed.
The successful candidate for this position will report to the Director of Accounting.
This position is flexible with expectations of 20-30 hours/per week.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
- Previous experience as a staff accountant is required.
- Understanding of finance, accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
- Great written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously required.
- Attention to detail and documentation organization required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a growing team required.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365, with an emphasis on Excel, required.
- Experience with Deltek Vision ERP system and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
