This is a FULL TIME ROLE that pays $19.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Ensures timely and accurate cash receipt and cash reconciliation processes, including compiling and analyzing various data, preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable accounts payable and general ledger systems and procedures, chart of accounts and organizational policies.
  • Participate in the cash process, tracking bank transactions and recording daily cash activity.
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly for all Samaritas entities and managed facilities.
  • Assist finance staff with and respond to inquiries related to cash receipts.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with organization policies and accepted accounting practices.
  • Assist in month-end closing including recording monthly entries and various reporting.
  • Oversee off-site storage transfers and allocation of monthly invoices.
  • Maintain office supplies and compile orders for the finance department.
  • Assist supervisor with various projects.

Job Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
  • High school diploma required.
  • College accounting classes, preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum one year cash receipt/bank reconciliation experience, preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to apply commonsense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic forms.
  • Ability to work constructively with supervisor and staff.
  • Ability to understand and apply various accounting, data processing and general office principles.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to compute rates and percentages.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with client, employee and organization information.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team in achieving common goals. Ability to work constructively with staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural context.
  • Ability to speak, read and write fluent English. Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to prepare letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Ability to manage multiple functions of a complex organization. Strong organizational skills.
