As our new Accountant, we want to see a candidate that has excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial records. You will prepare financial summaries, maintain inventory, manage cash flows and handle invoices and receivables. Your daily tasks will include auditing and financial analysis. Accountant duties will include keeping up-to-date with tax laws, standards and best practices. In this role, you should have excellent time management skills and be able to pay attention to the details. Ultimately, you should be able to contribute to the effective management of our company’s financial affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile balances in accounting books and ensure company’s records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare and confirm bank account reconciliations with outside financial institutions.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns on time as required by law.
  • Prepare management reports and analyses to help with business decision-making.
  • Compile monthly financial statements (e.g. Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet) updated with the most recent financial data available.
  • Perform budget forecasts using various analytical tools, like discounted cash flow analysis, regression analysis etc..
  • Manage day-to-day transactions such as disburse payments, process vendor invoices etc.
  • Maintain insurance policies to minimize risks pertaining to business and its customers (e.g. property, casualty).
  • Perform other accounting tasks as deemed necessary.
  • Manage the relationship between the company and its bank(s).
  • Evaluate and investigate new systems (e.g. accounting software) that could enhance efficiency within the company.
