Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking an experienced Accountant for its Financial Services Department in Maitland, FL. The position will be responsible for the month-end close, including identifying and recording necessary journal entries; reconciling balance sheet accounts; and performing an analytical review of accounts for variances and unusual activity. Other duties include reconciling monthly lease payments, preparing tax schedules and financial reports, assisting in the annual audit, and releasing trust wires. The position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working under time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision. Qualified candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills including MS Excel. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience in a law firm setting is strongly preferred. Experience with 3E and Chrome River is a plus.
