Abuse Intervention Program (AIP) – Bilingual Group Co-Facilitator
This is a contractual position (up to 5 hours/week) that is overseen by the AIP Coordinator and reports to the Clinical Services Director. This position requires written and oral fluency in English and Spanish.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct biopsychosocial intake assessments and orientations for entry into the Abuse Intervention Program (AIP)
· Co-facilitate psychoeducational group sessions for individuals who have perpetrated domestic violence and are either court-ordered or voluntarily seeking assistance to change their behavior
· Model behavior expectations to perpetrators of domestic violence participating in the AIP including, but not limited, to: taking a position of holding group participants fully responsible for their abusive behavior, showing respect to participants, leading participants to new views of gender equity, teaching skills for healthy emotional regulation and communication, modeling compassionate understanding of others, etc.
· Participate with Lead Facilitator in processing group interactions following each session of the program
· Address issues with participants individually, including conflicts, referrals for additional services, and assessment of appropriateness to continue in the program
· Contact current or former partners of AIP group members to inform them the participant began AIP & will be conducting follow-up at various intervals to ensure new abusive incidents haven’t occurred
· Develop collaborative relationships with community partners and the public
· Ensure client records are up-to-date, complete, accurately filed, and closed as needed
· Assist with program development activities, including group curriculum design, procedure development, etc.
· Coordinate perpetrator intervention services with victim intervention services, as appropriate
· Adhere to Heartly House values, philosophy, policies, and procedures
· Other duties as assigned by the AIP Coordinator and/or Clinical Services Director
· Evening hours required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related human service field, or the equivalent professional experience is required; Master’s degree preferred
· Prior experience working with clients affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, or child abuse required
· Prior group facilitation experience required
· Three (3) years of crisis intervention experience preferred
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including coordination with community partners
· Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and ability to quickly learn new client databases and software
· Successful completion of the Heartly House agency training (within probationary period), as well as House of Ruth’s Maryland AIP training and the BISC-MI conference (as soon as they become available to attend). Training time will be compensated.

Pay: $30.00 - $75.00 per hour
