As we grow, we are seeking an Advanced Air Mobility and Research & Development Practice Manager who is capable of leading and managing Project Managers and profitable projects for and is primarily responsible for propelling Woolpert into a position of an industry leader in the defined practice area. This position monitors the quantitative and qualitative achievements of the team and reports directly to the National Aviation Services Practice Operations Leader.

Responsibilities:
Practice Management:
Manages and is responsible for profit/loss across the Advanced Air Mobility and Research & Development Practice service areas within the market.
Maintain existing client business opportunities and projects in connection within the Advanced Air Mobility and Research & Development Practice service areas, matching the client and project type focus with the overall business strategy of the market, sector and firm.
Builds and enhances existing client relationships to identify and initiate additional sales opportunities within a client base and practice area, as well as in other practice areas and other markets.
Creates and maintains professional client relationship to develop a clear understanding of client marketplace, including market needs and client expectations within the Advanced Air Mobility and Research & Development Practice service areas.
Defines appropriate operations strategy to achieve revenue goals and assists with execution of such marketing penetration strategy (e.g., sales).
Supports the preparation and coordination of firm presence at practice-related trade, professional, or civic marketing functions.
Participates in activities of local, regional and national professional and/or civic organizations to establish, enhance, and maintain Woolpert’s presence in the marketplace.
Supports the creation of proposals and marketing material to support the firm’s continued client strategy

People Management:
Manages project managers and other support staff within the Advanced Air Mobility and Research & Development Practice service areas.
Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team staff to function in a goal-oriented manner.
Through supportive leadership, create an inspiring and trusting team environment promoting the growth of team members with an open communication culture.
Utilize their expertise, their peers, influence, and/or creativeness to formulate smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
Assist Project Managers in effective planning and scheduling of workload.
Ensures team is right-sized, right-skilled to support Operations management through accurate and efficient use of Opportunity forecasting and Resource Planning.
Interview and hire team members.
Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts, escalating issues as needed.
Provide ongoing Project Fundamentals training and coaching to team members.
Has full people managerial responsibilities (goal setting, training plans, performance development reviews, pay decisions, termination, discipline, staffing, etc.) and partners with Human Resources for strategic people management duties.
Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.
Proactively mentors and coaches direct reports on their professional development (i.e. client presentations, interviews, client management, industry leadership).
Travel
Travel for team interaction, coordination, and participation in practice-related trade, professional, or civic marketing functions. Amount of travel will vary depending on service area.

Project Management:
Lead team in contract scope and budget/pricing development for proposals and dynamic project planning.
Assists project managers in negotiations or performs negotiation of project schedule, fee, scope and contract terms.
Assists in preparing proposals, and participates in interviews, and/or firm capabilities presentations to potential clients.
Identifies, addresses, and resolves in close coordination with appropriate individuals, any project issues impacting client goals, objectives, and/or client satisfaction within a practice area.
Train, coach and mentor staff existing or project management requirements.
Successfully manage large, programmatic, or cross-market projects with key success measures as

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related Project Management experience or sixteen (16) years of related experience
Must have current Professional Registration, if applicable to the practice.
Must have expert industry and solution knowledge.
Expert in Microsoft Office suite.
Must be able to travel to meet the needs and demands of the practice.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
