EPOK has added the “Bulldozer” to its impressive stable of fighters, signing Tanner Boser, a two-time heavyweight champion of Canada’s Unified MMA promotion, for the next stage of his mixed martial arts career.

“EPOK contacted me and said they could help me get some bigger fights and new opportunities, so I decided to take them up on it,” said Boser. “So far they’ve come through. With their representation, I was able to obtain a contract that I probably would not have been able to get myself.”

Boser, 27, recently signed a multi-fight deal with M-1 Global, and will make his debut for the St. Petersburg, Russia-based promotion on March 30 in Almaty, Kazakhstan on the M-1: Challenge 101 card against Zaur Gadzhibabayev.

The Bonnyville, Alberta native, who trains in Edmonton, Alberta under Jeff Monteurro at Shaved Bears MMA, and Keijiro Noda at Frank Lee’s Muay Thai, just finished up a six-fight run in ACB, and is now 15-5 overall. He’s a fighter that loves staying active, and he’s thrilled that his new deal will allow for the flexibility to take fights outside of M-1 so as long as it’s for a non-Russian promotion and doesn’t interfere with a fight card he’s already booked on.

“It’s really nice,” said Boser. “I’m going to be able to get back to fighting four or five times a year. I’m excited now to be able to fight more frequently. I’ve seriously been training like a maniac since January 2. I was starting to freak out about not having a fight. I was starting to go crazy a little bit. When you train so hard and there’s not a light at the end of the tunnel, tasting blood in your lungs twice a week, it sucks when you have nothing to target that towards. I’m thrilled to get this fight. I have a tough opponent. It’s going to be a good fight.”

The Canadian heavyweight looks at the world of MMA as a “choose-your-own-adventure game,” saying, “You have to process the possibility of what a win can get you and also what a loss might mean for you. Hopefully, in a perfect world you win every fight, but let’s be honest, that’s not how it always goes most of the time.”

His career goals are simple: “fight the toughest guys, take the biggest fights, fight frequently and just enjoy the ride,” he said. Next up, of course, is his M-1 debut on March 30 vs. Gadzhibabayev, but Boser is already eyeing M-1 gold.

“I”m not a guy who usually chases titles. If it comes so be it. I just like to fight. I like to have tough fights against tough guys. M-1 has an open heavyweight title right now and I don’t think it’s unrealistic that if I make a statement in the next couple of fights, that I could be fighting for the title before too long.”
